Question 1

What is Zypmi?

Accepted Answer

A digital hard disk that appears in Finder on macOS 26 or later. It is built first for videographers.

Question 2

Will my footage fill up my Mac?

Accepted Answer

No. Footage opens in the apps you already cut with, and the Mac requests only the bytes needed. Files stay off the Mac unless you pin a folder.

Question 3

Can Zypmi read my files?

Accepted Answer

No. End-to-end encryption happens on your Mac before upload. Zypmi and Cloudflare store ciphertext on Cloudflare R2 and do not hold the key. Another customer’s login cannot read the files either.

Question 4

What happens when I reach my plan?

Accepted Answer

Uploads stop. The server enforces the limit, so there is no surprise overage. Files in the trash count toward the plan for 30 days.

Question 5

How is the annual price quoted?

Accepted Answer

As a price per month. Choosing annual saves between $18 a year on 500 GB and $540 a year on 30 TB.
